Getting help from the Witness Service
If you live outside London:
If you would like support from the Witness Service before you go to court, please get in touch. Whether you’re a witness or a professional referring a witness to our service, you can use this form.
There are also other ways you can get in touch with us.
If you’re a prosecution witness, the Witness Care Unit or a police officer who is dealing with your case can refer you for support.
If you’re a defence witness, the solicitor or someone else from the defence legal team can refer you.
You can still get support on the day of the trial if you have not been in touch with us, or if you’ve changed your mind about wanting support. Speak to a member of the court staff when you arrive at the court building and ask to speak to a Witness Service supporter.
If you live in London:
If you live in London or will be giving evidence in a London court, pre-trial support is provided by the Pre-trial Witness Support Service, delivered by Victim Support. (Support at court on the day of the trial is still provided by the Witness Service.)
